Hello! So I’m up at NAS Whiting Field in Milton, Florida now. This moving every couple of months thing is getting old! I’ve spent the past two weeks unpacking, getting settled in, and relaxing. I really like my new place – it’s a huge condominium that’s about twelve minutes from the base! It sure is nice to have a break! But all good things must come to an end, and it looks like I’ll be starting ground school this Friday afternoon. This is where I’ll be learning the design and operating characteristics of the airplane that I’ll be flying for the next couple of months…the "trusty" T-34C Turbomentor. The weather has been really nice lately, so I’ve been trying to get out and run when I can. I’ve run three races in as many weeks…two 5K’s and a 4 mile Veteran's Day run that I actually just got home from. Other than that, there’s really not much going on down here! I’ve been playing around with my new flat screen TV and Xbox 360 a lot. Can’t wait until Guitar Hero III gets here! Earlier in the week my friend and I rented a Piper Warrior and went for a short flight down to the beach and back. I forgot how much fun flying is, and I’m looking forward to getting back into the cockpit in the next couple of months! It looks like I’m going to be a “Shooter” over at Training Squadron SIX (VT-6) for Primary Flight Training. Oh yeah, I went to my friend Brandon’s Halloween party a few weeks ago (I'm the Mexican in the picture). I was wearing a giant black mustache when I first got there, but it kept falling off and it looks like Sergio decided to use it as chest hair in this picture! Good times!
Halloween!
